Leanna Kirchoff is a Denver-based composer of opera, musicals, choral anthems, and chamber music. Her music has been performed at music festivals across the United States and at the New London Wind Festival in England, and in numerous concert engagements. Her piece Meciendo won the Sorel Medallion in Choral Composition in 2007 and was premiered in Carnegie Hall the following year. The Clever Artifice of Harriet and Margaret is her first opera and won the National Opera Association’s 2014-2016 Dominick Argento Chamber Opera Competition. Its professional premiere was given by Really Spicy Opera in 2015.
Leanna is a graduate of the University of Denver and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She is currently a doctoral candidate in music composition at the University of Colorado.
