Collaborative pianist Jean Orbison Van Heel joined a Really Spicy Opera in its 2017 season for Amahl and the Night Visitors. A legendary accompanist in the Twin Cities Metro Area, her numerous pit and rehearsal credits include more than thirty years as the staff accompanist for the Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Company. She also works as the accompanist for three local school districts.

Jean holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music History/Literature from St. Olaf College.
