All Aria Institute alums are encouraged to join our alumni Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ariainstitute/

Membership is limited to past participating composers, librettists, instructors, performers, and administration.

Members are encouraged to seek out collaborators, share opportunities of interest, and publicize performances and other presentations of their work. 

Other Communities

If you have not yet participated in the Aria Institute but are looking for a community of opera creators, we suggest joining:

• 21st Century Opera Creators (Facebook)
• Librettist Network (Facebook)

There are not currently plans to establish an alternate community for Aria Institute alums on a separate social media platform.

Letters of Recommendation

Alums and current participants are always welcome to approach Aria Institute co-directors and instructors for letters of recommendation. If you are considering asking for a letter, please let us know via email:

• sooner, rather than later (1 month is recommended);
• any specific requirements (e.g., letterhead, how to submit);
• any pieces of information that you would especially like mentioned; and
• which work sample(s) you plan to submit.

When an Aria Institute co-director is already writing a letter for an alum for the same opportunity, we generally try to let you know this and let you know whether you wish to get a letter from us anyway, or if you wish to solicit a different recommendation writer.
