Maureen L. Bourgeois is a Minneapolis writer, director, actor, and producer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she studied directing, playwriting, performance, and American Sign Language. Maureen has directed and taught drama in a variety of settings to preschool aged children through adults from 1993 to present in Minneapolis and north central Minnesota. Her production company Lady Z Productions produced The Move, a romantic comedy written by Maureen, in the 2014 Minnesota Fringe Festival.
Maureen joined Really Spicy Opera in its 2015 season to direct The Clever Artifice of Harriet and Margaret, for which she also served as the costume and hair/makeup designer. She returned in the 2016 season as the costume and scene designer for Rigoletto.
Lady Z Productions is currently in various stages of development on several projects including plays, screenplays, and short stories for adults and children. The company returned to the Minnesota Fringe Festival in 2016 with The Story of Me and You.
