Soprano Amanda Weis holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University and a master of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Minnesota–Duluth. She first joined Really Spicy Opera in 2014 to sing the role of Angelique in The Frat Party. She returned in 2016 as the stage director of Rigoletto.

Some of her favorite other operatic roles including Lucy from Menotti’s The Telephone and Gretel from Humperdink’s Hänsel und Gretel. Some of her favorite musical theater roles include the Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), Sister Mary Amnesia (Nunsense), Laurey (Oklahoma!), and Kyra (Bare: A Pop Opera.)

In 2017, Amanda was awarded a Hawaii Performing Arts Festival Directing Fellowship.
